About this tool
Set minutes and seconds, start the timer, then pause, resume or reset it without leaving the page. The large display stays readable from a distance and the short sound at zero is generated by the browser.
The timer stores an exact finishing moment rather than assuming every interval fires on time. Browsers slow background tabs to save power; calculating from the deadline prevents that throttling from making a five-minute timer last six.
It runs locally and asks for no notification, microphone or account access. Keep the tab open if the alarm matters.

Questions people actually ask
- Why might I not hear the sound?
- Browsers can block audio until the page has received a user action, and muted devices remain muted. Starting the timer is normally enough to allow the short generated tone.
- Does pausing reset the timer?
- No. Pause preserves the remaining time and Start resumes from that point. Reset returns to the duration entered in the fields.
